Implantology

Dental implants are used to replace lost teeth. They are the next-best-thing after natural teeth, providing a similar feel and appearance. Implants are artificial roots made of biocompatible material that are surgically inserted into the jawbone.

Implantology is a three-step process:

The implant is installed.
The bone heals and fuses to the implant (osteointegration), which makes it very solid. On average, this takes three months. A temporary prosthesis may be installed while you wait for your final restoration.
The missing tooth is replaced with a crown or bridge that matches the colour and shape of your natural teeth.

Implant-supported prostheses

Several types of prostheses can be secured to implants. Crowns are used to replace a single tooth, bridges can replace several teeth and permanent or removable dentures can replace a full set of teeth.
